Reminder: Bernadette Bean Award Nominations Close 8 July 2026. There is still time to nominate an outstanding individual or team for the 2026 Bernadette Bean SA Records Management Service Excellence Award — but nominations close soon. We encourage you to consider nominating a colleague, team, or yourself.

This prestigious Award recognises and celebrates the often-unsung champions of records, information and archives management — and related fields — across South Australia. Eligible nominees may come from state, federal and local government sectors; hospital and health services; educational institutions; libraries, galleries and museums; local history groups; historical societies; cultural heritage organisations; religious and charitable bodies; community and regional organisations; volunteer groups; and other not-for-profit sectors.

📝 About the Award

Established in honour of the late Bernadette Bean, the Award recognises individuals and teams who demonstrate dedication, leadership, service excellence or innovation in:

📚 Records, information and knowledge management

📚 Archives management

📚 Library, history, museum and cultural heritage collections management.

Who Should Be Nominated?

We encourage nominations of eligible individuals and teams who have delivered — or are working towards — measurable impact, best practice or continuous improvement in areas such as:

✅ Strengthening capture, governance, management, preservation, digitisation and digital access policy frameworks and practices.

✅ Advancing technologies and digital transformation, including ECM, EDRMS, imaging, archives and collection management systems, workflow automation, digital dashboards and AI-enabled solutions.

✅ Organisational change, exceptional teamwork, collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing

✅ Research, project delivery, professional leadership, building capability and innovative solutions, and contributing to organisational or sector-wide improvement.

Nominations are welcome for eligible practitioners at all career stages — including emerging professionals, established leaders, quiet achievers, high-performing teams, promising students, dedicated volunteers, retired knowledge workers, and current records and information management practitioners, archivists, librarians, historians, museum professionals, cultural heritage custodians and researchers.
