Award eligibility criteria: Eligible award beneficiaries include current, new and past outstanding South Australian (SA):

- practitioners
- groups / teams
- students
- researchers
- historians
- volunteers, and
- other individuals (including quiet achievers and those who go the extra mile)
who previously or currently work, volunteer or study in the focus categories listed under the award purpose, in the practice areas of: records and information management; archives management; knowledge management; and history, cultural heritage, museum or library collections management. This encompasses eligible beneficiaries from SA:

- community or volunteer groups
- local government councils
- state and federal (SA based) government agencies or bodies
- state universities and other tertiary educational institutions (including their educational programs; and records, history, cultural heritage, museum and library archive centres and research bodies)
- not-for-profit organisations
- community service and local, regional and State bodies who capture, manage, preserve or provide access to record and object archive collections, including historical societies, cultural or heritage centres, libraries and museums. These bodies may be private or public and can include hospitals and health services, schools and colleges, cultural and linguistic groups, history and archive associations, libraries, performing art centres, religious or charitable organisations, recreational and sporting bodies, museum exhibitions or galleries, and similar groups showcasing local, regional and SA records, information, archives, history, cultural heritage, museum or library collections and objects.
